98th Senate Session

The 98th Senate Session was held yesterday, November 22, at the University of Rijeka Rectorate. The honourable title of professor emeritus was appointed to retired Professor Rade Šerbedžija, D. Art., and Professor Pavao Komadina, Ph.D. The proposed motion for founding a Centre for Translational Medical Research was accepted.

Professors Ksenija Lučin, M.D., Ph.D. and Biserka Mulac Jeričević, M.D., Ph.D., from the University of Rijeka Faculty of Medicine were granted permanent tenures as full professors, whereas professors Ana Alebić Juretić, M.D., Ph.D. and Tomislav Ćabov, M.D., Ph.D., also from the UNIRI Faculty of Medicine, were granted tenures as full professors for a period of five years.

The proposed motion for founding a Centre for Translational Medical Research (TRANSMEDRI) was accepted. Participants in the project are as follows: The Univeristy of Rijeka, The UNIRI Faculty of Medicine and the Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka. The Centre is planned to be designed as a part of a health complex of the University and research centre where research in the fields of immunology, cancer, regenerative medicine and functional neurology are planned to be carried out.
