Supercomputers for Innovations
Thursday, Sep 28 2017

An Interreg InnoHPC workshop is set to take place on Friday, September 29, 2017, at the University Departments’ building on the University of Rijeka Campus, organized by the UNIRI Center for Advanced Computing and Modelling. The workshop’s goal is to make the supercomputer infrastructure more available to small and medium- sized companies, with the purpose of accelerating development and innovations.

In later stages of the project, the development of the regional HPC laboratory in order to ensure easier access to the supercomputing infrastructure, is also planned. Through this workshop, entrepreneurs and all interested participants will discover the benefits and ways of using the supercomputer as a means of developing innovations.

Lecturers will present examples where using a supercomputer infrastructure reduced the time needed for certain product or service development. Success stories will be presented by renowned foreign and domestic companies.

The intent of the workshop is to demonstrate the use of supercomputing applications for the purpose of industrial research and development of new products. Employees of the Center for Advanced Computing and Modeling will, in collaboration with Altair engineers, demonstrate the capabilities of the Hyperworks program package. The workshop may be of interest both to engineers who are employed in R&D and the scientific staff of the university.
