Welcome for Erasmus Students

The UNIRI Mobility Office organized a Welcome Day for incoming students on October 4, 2017 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering on the Trsat Campus. The incoming students have come to the University of Rijeka for a study visit within the framework of the LLP Erasmus and were welcomed by the University of Rijeka Rector, Professor Snježana Prijić Samaržija, Ph.D.

110 incoming students are set to conduct their studies in the winter semester at the University of Rijeka, while a total amount of students on study visits at the University of Rijeka in the academic year 2017/2018, through the Erasmus programme, is 250.

25 students are set to study at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management within the winter semester 2017/2018 from Finland, Italy, Latvia, Germany, Poland, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Romania and Bulgaria.

35 students are set to study at the Faculty of Economics from Latvia, Spain, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Finland, Lithuania, France, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Greece and Slovakia.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences will host thirteen students from Italy, Turkey, Poland, Germany and Slovenia.

The Faculty of Maritime Studies will host four students from Germany and Poland.

The Faculty of Law will host fourteen students from Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

The Faculty of Engineering will host two students from France and Poland.

Two students from Spain will attend a study visit at the Faculty of Teacher Education.

Four students from Lithuania and Spain will study at the Department of Informatics.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering, will host four French students.

Seven students from Slovakia, Poland and Portugal will be studying at the Faculty of Health Studies.

In addition to Erasmus students from the European Union, CEEPUS students, students attending vocational practice at the Faculty of Medicine, students from Russia studying at the Faculty of Economics under the KA107 projects and seven students who came to the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on the basis of scholarships granted by the Ministry of Science and Education, and the State Office for Croats outside Croatia, were also present.

The University of Rijeka Rector Snježana Prijić Samaržija, Ph.D., and Maša Šašinka, Head of the UNIRI International Mobility Office, addressed the students and wished them a successful, useful, and fun stay.

The UNIRI Mobility Office held a presentation about the University of Rijeka and introduced the students to all practical matters related to studying and staying in Rijeka and the Republic of Croatia.

Members of the Erasmus Student Network Rijeka introduced activities of the ESN Rijeka to the incoming students, while Head of the Rijeka Croatist School, Professor Željka Macan, Ph.D., and lector Sandra Jukić presented opportunities for enrolment in a Croatian language course.

Following the official part of the info welcome day and refreshments at the University of Rijeka Rectorate, the incoming students went on a sightseeing tour of Rijeka and Opatija.
