Humanitarian Birthday
Thursday, Jan 25 2018

Radio Sova celebrates its 8th birthday on Saturday, February 3, 2018. This year's celebration will have a humanitarian character - all funds raised are intended for Patricija Glasnović, an immobile young girl who needs rehabilitation. The entrance is free of charge.

Who is Patricija Glasnović?

As a little girl, aged 11, Patrizia jumped carelessly into the sea and broke her cervical spine. She was immediately transferred to Zagreb on a military airplane for surgery. She stayed in Klaić hospital for 40 days. She has been immobile since and was no sign of recovery.
Today, 8 years later, there is a new hope. Glavić Polyclinic which opened in Zagreb deals with such injuries. It would help her move her arms and upper body, which would help her get somewhat independent.

Who's performing?

Radio Sova's 8th birthday celebration will be a combination of stand-up comedy and concerts. The program starts at 9 p.m. at the Palach Cultural Center. Performing are the following:
- stand-up comedians: Marina Orsag, Marko Petar Orešković, Dragan Simić, Ivan Banić,
- bands: Obrazovni program, Muhe, Accidental One.

What is Radio Sova?

Radio Sova is the only student radio program in Rijeka, and it is a result of the collaboration between Croatian Radio - Rijeka Radio and the University of Rijeka. The Radio started broadcasting on January 29, 2010. The program airs every night from 10:30 p.m. until 1 a.m.

The show covers various topics which are always tailored to students. Seventeen shows are broadcast every week and are devoted to various areas - from music through the informative program to the promotion of student activities.

18 students from almost all Rijeka faculties prepare the Radio's show. They work in several newsrooms: information, culture, sports, and music. At least three people host the show every night - a host, journalist and a music editor.
