Agreement Signing

The ceremonial signing of the Cooperation Agreement concluded between the University of Rijeka and the Institute for Anthropology was held on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018, at the University of Rijeka Rectorate. Prof. Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., University of Rijeka Rector, and Saša Missoni, Ph.D., Head of the Institute, signed the Agreement.

Also present at the signing were:

- Miran Čoklo, Ph.D., research associate at the Institute,

- Barbara Cvitkušić, Ph.D., adviser at the Institute,

- Prof. Krešimir Pavelić, Ph.D., Rector's Advisor, UNIRI Department of Biotechnology,

- Associate Prof. Sandra Kraljević Pavelić, Ph.D., UNIRI Department of Biotechnology, Head of the Centre for High-Pass Technology.

Madam Rector announced that the working group for establishing an international postgraduate specialist study ‘’Anthropology and Global Health’’ is to be formed in 2019, and it will be conceived as a specialization primarily for healthcare professionals, as well as other related professions.

The Institute for Anthropology, as a public institute, is a holder of a continuous scientific research activity in the field of anthropology, carried out under the competence of the Ministry of Science and Education. Since its establishment, the Institute has kept its interdisciplinary approach in scientific-research work. The Institute gathers experts from different scientific fields on the basis of their common anthropological interest, which makes it unique in the country and well-known in the international scientific sphere.

The aim of the cooperation between the Institute for Anthropology and the University of Rijeka is to unify personnel and infrastructure capacities to strengthen scientific infrastructure, increase scientific production, collaborative projects, internationalization and to establish and develop alluring study programs to strengthen competitiveness and recognition of both institutions.
