Friday, Feb 23 2018

The signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the UNIRI Faculty of Teacher Education and the Youth Home Rijeka was held on Thursday, February 22nd, 2018, at the Faculty of Teacher Education on the University of Rijeka Campus. Associate Prof. Lidija Vujičić, Ph.D., Faculty of Teacher Education Dean, and Prof. Goran Gračanin, Head of the Youth Home, signed the Agreement.

By signing the Agreement, both parties will establish professional cooperation in the field of higher education. The Faculty of Teacher Education students will thus be included in the programs of the Youth Home and be able to carry out certain forms of teaching, i.e. pre-service training required by the study program, with the aim of gaining practical competences.

The Agreement with the Faculty of Teacher Education is of great significance for the Youth Home, which attaches great importance to educational work with children of preschool and school age and continuous professional training of their employees and volunteers.
  • Through this collaboration, the Faculty of Teacher Education students will be given the opportunity to carry out their pre-service training and acquire concrete practical skills and competencies, and which will be realized through involving the students in activities:
  • multi-day visits of students as animators with pre-school or early school-age children in Stara Sušica Castle,
  • professional guides of groups of children as educators - animators in summer camps (colonies) in Stara Sušica Castle,
  • volunteering in the implementation of certain program activities of the Youth Home in Rijeka,
  • hiring students at group courses at the Youth Home and engaging in other activities.

The fundamental goal of establishing professional cooperation, i.e. signing the Cooperation Agreement, is to connect the Faculty with institutions and legal entities in the field of education and establish cooperation which will enable students to merge work in practice with high education.
