Study Programmes
The University of Rijeka provides a wide range of study programmes. University study programmes are carried out at three levels:
  • undergraduate,
  • graduate,
  • postgraduate.
Vocational study programmes are carried out at two levels through vocational study programmes and specialist graduate vocational studies.


Undergraduate Study Programmes
The undergraduate study programme as a rule lasts for three to four years and upon graduation a student acquires anywhere from 180 to 240 ECTS credits and the academic degree: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science (baccalaureus/bacalaurea) with notation of profession, what further qualifies the student for a specialized, art or scientific work. Following this study level, a student can either continue their studies at the graduate level or enter the job market.
 
Vocational Study Programmes
Vocational study programmes last from two to three years and upon graduation a student acquires a vocational title of vocational member with a notation of the vocation at hand, if the study programme carries less than 180 ECTS credits, that is vocational Bachelor degree (baccalaureus/baccalaurea) with a notation of the vocation at hand, if the study programme carries over 180 ECTS credits. Following this level, a student can continue with their studies at the specialist graduate vocational study programme or at the graduate study programme or enter the job market.
 
Graduate Study Programmes
The graduate study programme lasts from a year to two years and upon graduation a student acquires from 60 to 120 ECTS credits and the academic degree Master of Arts or Master of Science with a notation of profession. The student can continue their studies at the postgraduate level or enter the job market.
 
Postgraduate Study Programmes
A postgraduate study programme last three years. Upon commencement a student acquires either a Doctor of Sciences or Doctor of Arts degree. The University of Rijeka also organizes postgraduate specialist study programmes which last for a period of two years. Upon graduation of these studies, a student obtains the academic title university specialist with notation of profession pursuant to title of study programme.
