Agreement Signed

The University of Rijeka Science and Technology Park (STEPRI) and the Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BIRCRO) signed a Cooperation Agreement in regard to the execution of a pilot project entitled Startup Academy. The Agreement was signed by: Darko Liović, President of the Board of HAMAG-BIRCRO, Boris Guina, Vice President of the Board of HAMAG-BIRCRO, and Boris Golob, director of the STEPRI. The aim of the Startup Academy project is to provide beginner entrepreneurs with basic knowledge necessary for successful management of a company and market sustainability. The programme consists of Basic and Specialist workshops.

Darko Liović, President of the Board of HAMAG-BIRCRO stated: "As an institution that follows and aids activities of  beginner entrepreneurs, HAMAG-BICRO recognized the need for education in this entrepreneurial group. The Start-up Academy presents a highly significant mentorship system, as learning, training, specialization and exchange of knowledge lead towards growth, development and advancement. We are pleased that STEPRI also recognized the importance of this project."

Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity of learning about developing feasibility studies, legal issues and types of entrepreneurships, human resources management, accounting and finances, sales and marketing, presentation skills, as well as project management in terms of co-funding options from national or EU funds, through various workshops and seminars. Following participation in the Start-up Academy, STEPRI will remain available to participants for further consulting and mentoring.
"Collaboration between STEPRI and HAMAG-BICRO  shows that it's possible to create the best possible practices of facilitating entrepreneurship and sharing them with similar institutions. We want to enable the participants for an easier beginning, a more probable success rate and business growth'', said Boris Golob, director of STEPRI.

This Agremment between HAMAG-BICRO and STEPRI facilitates a positive trend of education and training entrepreneurs thus putting the Startup Academy within an institutional framework that will greatly make beginner entrepreneurs' first steps that much easier and provide them with concrete knowledge and skills.

The Startup Academy is funded by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts wihitn the programme entitled Entrepreneur Impuls 2014.
