Rijeka Heritage in Grenada

Ivana Golob Mihić and Kristina Pandža from the Center for Industrial Heritage of the University of Rijeka participated in a meeting organized by the Interreg Europe Actions project held on January 23rd and 24th, 2018, in Grenada, Spain. The project deals with the protection and preservation of natural and cultural heritage and their inclusion in the development and promotion of innovative, sustainable tourism strategies, and it involves intangible and industrial heritage through interpretation and digitization, linking good practices, policy implementation and capacity building.

The Center for Industrial Heritage of the University of Rijeka is a contact point as a member of the European Cultural Tourism Network.

Rijeka's industrial heritage and strategic documents related to culture and tourism, needed to incorporate industrial heritage into local and regional development policies, were presented within the project. Rijeka and its industrial heritage is a good example to other project partners who are yet to present their industrial heritage sites as a tourist product.
