Department of Informatics' Jubilee

The Department of Informatics of the University of Rijeka celebrated its first jubilee on Thursday, April 12, 2018. According to Prof. Patricija Poščić, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Informatics, the Department is the smallest University constituent in the number of staff but has achieved results that neither of the larger constituents would be ashamed of. It should be pointed out that the Informatics classroom 028 was on this occasion named after Prof. Pavle Dragojlović, Ph.D., the founder of Informatics at the University of Rijeka.
The Department was established on the basis of the Decision made by the University of Rijeka Senate on December 17, 2007, while the employees of the then Department of Informatics of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences signed Agreements of Employment with the University and became staff members of the Department. Since the people are the ones who make the Department, the Department's birthday is considered to be celebrated on April 1.
Numerous guests, associates, and partners attended the ceremony, while Prof. Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., University of Rijeka Rector, Mr. Marko Filipović, Deputy Mayor of the City of Rijeka, and Mrs. Lidija Kralj, Minister of Science and Education Assistant, sent their congratulations to the Department.
