''Adamić'' at the UNIRI Library

The new premises of the ''Andrija Ljudevit Adamić'' High School were opened on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018, at the University Library Rijeka. Professor Alen Ružić, M.D., Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Science, addressed the attendees of the opening on behalf of Prof. Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, Ph.D., University of Rijeka Rector, and added: ''Apart from the development of science and teaching, one function of our University, one so important and so-called third function, is to contribute to the community in which it operates. Young talents are one of the pillars of the community, and this school is the source of such talents and, hopefully, some will be our future students.''

The opening ceremony was held in the hallway on the second floor, which will also be the new location of the school. Ms. Denis Khermayer, Head of the ''Andrija Ljudevit Adamić'' High School, held the welcoming speech.

As stated by Mr. Vojko Obersnel, M.Sc., Mayor of the City of Rijeka, this is the only private high school in Rijeka, and one of the few in Croatia. The school is attended by 76 students.

Also present at the opening ceremony were Ms. Edita Stilin, M.Sc., Head of the Administrative Department for Education, and Ms. Senka Tomljanović, Head of the University of Rijeka Library.
