A press conference announcing the European Researchers' Night was held on Friday, September 14th, 2018, at the Ministry of Science and Education. The Researcher's Night will be held on Friday, September 28th, 2018, at the Tower Center Rijeka. Many cities across Europe will participate in this project, and the University of Rijeka is one of 18 project partners in Croatia.

The conference was opened by Prof. Blaženka Divjak, Ph.D., Minister of Science and Education, while Mr. Tome Antičić, Ph.D., State Secretary, presented the program.

Professor Alen Ružić, M.D., Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Science, was also present at the press conference and stated: ''The University of Rijeka considers the popularization of science, i.e. introducing the community with the role that science has in the development of society, to be of great importance. We believe that these kinds of events spark interest in elementary and high school students, which may later also mean inviting young talents to the academic community." Professor Ružić thanked the Primorje-Gorski kotar County and the City of Rijeka for promoting this year's Researchers' Night and invited all interested to attend this unique event.
